Should you or someone you know be featured as a Person to Know? Fill out this form and we may publish your story.

What is your position and what do you/your company do in the cannabis space?

I’m the owner at BLKDOG, a branding, marketing and web agency. We work with brands to tell stories, create campaigns, develop strategy, packaging and marketing messages.

We work across industries such as CPG, cannabis and cultivation, food and beverage, and experiences. I lead the team of strategy and creative.

How long have you worked in the cannabis space?

Five years.

What did you do before you were involved in the cannabis industry?

Branding and marketing, ad campaign planning, creative, strategy and project management while working in other regulated industries, such as alcohol and financial.

What led you to the cannabis industry?

Passion for creation and connection to those “makers” was what led me. The market is just “coming to us” now over on the East Coast.

Do you have any advice for someone looking to get into the NY weed industry?

Think about “all” the places that need your help! Whether logistics, or creative, cultivation, or customer interaction. There are so many places that you can fit in, and make your mark.

What do you think the NY cannabis ecosystem will look like in five years?

I feel it will be an ecosystem of large and small growers. Larger brands will provide products that are trusted and reliable – almost like larger brands for consumer goods. Those entities will set the average price and the products available. Smaller “boutique” makers will garner high levels of brand loyalty, be able to command higher retail prices and experiment with products, and create a market such as the craft beer or wine market.

Do you use cannabis? If so, what’s your favorite method (flower, dabs, edibles, tinctures, etc.), and why?

Yes, but the “method” depends on time, place, and personalities 🙂

Who should contact you, and what’s the best method (i.e. email, phone number, LinkedIn handle, etc.)

Anyone. MY cell is best, and email: 518-812-1204 creative@blackdogllc.com
