These 3 N.J. legal weed stores debuted in June

As of this week, there are 33 legal weed stores throughout New Jersey, with many more to open this year. The speed at which these retail spots are opening has increased dramatically from last year.

Last month, three stores opened their doors. This month has seen just as many openings — not in North Jersey, where most of the dispensaries were located at this time last year — scattered across Central and South Jersey.

Here’s the skinny on the three most recent additions (for store websites, click on the name of the town; for map directions, click on the phone number).

NJ Leaf opened in Monmouth County, Union Chill in Hunterdon County and MPX on the Gloucester County-Camden County border all opened their doors to recreational consumers aged 21 and over by the start of the summer.

NJ Leaf

NJ Leaf debuted sales in Central Jersey with a celebration on June 21 in Freehold. The retail location is located at 546 Park Ave., and its hours of operation are 10 a.m.-8 p.m. everyday. For more information, call (732) 204-7172.

They carry brands that are available across the country in different markets such as Ozone, Kynd, Cookies and Anthologie products. They also stock products from New Jersey’s only stand-alone cultivator, Hillview Medical.

Union Chill

Union Chill is located in downtown Lambertville at 204 N. Union St., in the heart of the business district. The city is known for its antiques, historic architecture and artisans, drawing tourists from all over the Northeast, and it sits on the Pennsylvania-New Jersey border, across the Delaware River from its sister town, New Hope.

The majority women-owned facility’s hours of operation are Monday-Saturday 9 a.m.-7 p.m. and on Sundays 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Call: (609) 483-2350. The boutique-style store sells cannabis products as well as items from local artists and other businesses.

MPX

MPX NJ brand opened its second recreational franchise — the first is in Atlantic City — in South Jersey. The Sicklerville store, 581 Berlin – Cross Keys Rd, is on the border of Gloucester Township, Washington Township, and Winslow Township.

This store’s hours of operation are Monday-Saturday 9 a.m.-9 p.m., and 11 a.m.-5 p.m. on Sunday. For more information call (848) 292-2764 or visit their website. They carry products from brands such as Gage, Airo, Black Label and Verano.

We are excited to see the New Jersey legal weed market expanding faster and wider. Hopefully soon there will be a dispensary in every county that opted into the sale of cannabis.
