The New Jersey legal weed market is expanding at a steady pace. While the state’s regulatory body for cannabis has awarded over a hundred new licenses in the last year, it takes much tenacity to get to the finish line of opening doors for sales to the public.
There are currently 35 recreational weed stores serving customers 21 and over.
We have seen six new legal weed stores open in the last two months. This month, just two shops have been added to their ranks, bringing us to a total of 11 new adult-use stores so far this year.
The Social Leaf in South Tom’s River and Mountain View Farmacy in West Milford have made their market debut in July.

The Social Leaf
The Social Leaf, located at 334 Atlantic City Blvd., is the first recreational weed shop to open in Ocean County. Just minutes from the Shore, they have the most generous hours of operation (8 a.m.-10 p.m.) of any dispensary close to the beach.
Carrying brands like Verano, Grassroots, Kind Tree, Ozone and Tyson, they have a decent selection of products for every form of weed consumption. For more information, call: (732) 358-6800.
Mountain View Farmacy
Located far into North Jersey, — within miles of the New York-New Jersey border — Mountain View Farmacy is only the second legal weed store to serve customers in Passaic County.
They carry a wide range of brands (Airo, Miss Grass, 1906 and Cookies, to name a few) and products, most notably edibles of different types (gummies and pills) and quantities.
The store address is 74 Oak Ridge Rd., and their hours of operation are 12 p.m.-8 p.m. For more information, call: (973) 319-6420.
We are excited to see the New Jersey legal weed market expanding faster and wider, but hopefully the pace at which new stores open will increase as the summer ends and we move into the fall.
