Should you or someone you know be featured as a Person to Know? Fill out this form and we may publish your story.

What is your position and what do you/your company do in the cannabis space?

MJstack is a free cannabis consultancy with a focus on the technology and business solutions space. I help cannabis operators across all verticals plan and execute on their technology stack so that they are using their capital efficiently.

How long have you worked in the cannabis space?

I joined the industry during my time in college working for a monthly educational and networking event organizer in NYC in 2019. This opened my eyes to what the industry could be one day in New York, as these were the pre-recreational days. It also delighted me to know that so many everyday people were keen on learning more about this industry. After graduating from college I immediately joined the MJstack team and haven’t looked back since.

What did you do before you were involved in the cannabis industry?

I was in school getting my degree in business and entrepreneurship.

What led you to the cannabis industry?

When I saw the farm bill pass legalizing hemp federally I knew it was only a matter of time until more states got on the cannabis bandwagon to chase tax revenue. It is nice to see that in states like New York, social equity applicants are given the first shot since they are the ones who were most affected by the war on drugs.

Do you have any advice for someone looking to get into the NY weed industry?

Be wary of what cannabis technology sales reps say, especially when it comes to integrations with other solutions. Also remember that you want to own your data as much as possible.

What do you think the NY cannabis ecosystem will look like in five years?

Pending a real push to fight black market operators in the space, this will continue to be a struggle. If the barrier to entry stays as high as it is now for MSOs, they may stay out of this market allowing mom and pop operators to flourish. At this point we will also see non-social equity operators enter the market.

Do you use cannabis? If so, what’s your favorite method?

I prefer flower, both in hand-rolled joints and in my desktop vaporizer.

Who should contact you, and what’s the best method?

Any current or prospective cannabis business owners should reach out to me. Phone, email and LinkedIn in that order are the best way to reach me: 720-689-1731, louis@mjstack, https://www.linkedin.com/in/louis-feuillatte/
