EDITOR’S NOTE: NJ Cannabis Insider, NJ.com’s B2B cannabis industry trade journal and events vertical, is hosting the state’s foremost business conference on Oct. 12. Tickets are limited.

A21 Dispensary, the 66th legal weed shop to open in New Jersey, is marking the occasion with a grand opening celebration Oct. 6 and 7 at their storefront in Scotch Plains.

The township mayor, other city officials and the entire A21 staff will be at the ribbon cutting ceremony at noon on Oct. 6. After the ceremony, attendees can participate in giveaways, food trucks, live music, vendors, charitable organizations, and discounts for every customer.

The store’s hours of operation for its opening weekend are 10 a.m.-8 p.m on Oct. 6 and 9 a.m.-8 p.m. on Oct. 7. The block party will take place in the parking lot behind the building. Located on the busy commercial area near the south end of the Watchung Reservation (at 2507 US-22), A21 joins one other independent retailer among Union County’s five dispensaries.

“Joining A21 in this celebration will be Good Vibes Medical Center, Verano, Miss Grass, and TerrAscend. The Scotch Plains police department will also be onsite doing community outreach,” store representatives said in a press release.

In addition, nonprofits slated to attend include the Epilepsy Foundation of NJ and Autism Services of NJ. Hoffman Expungement Clinic, offering assistance with expunging minor cannabis offenses from personal legal records.

“The town of Scotch Plains and local residents have been so welcoming and supportive of our small business since opening in August, said owner and CEO Prav Asokan. “We are thrilled to celebrate with the community and invite everyone to check out our educational dispensary experience. A21 Wellness Dispensary will continue to be committed to helping our customers shop for cannabis in a way that will support a healthy lifestyle and overall well being.”

The shop stocks a wide variety of accessories for smoking and storage from an array of brands like Grav, Boveda, Zenco, Yocan, Studenglass, Puffco and Sireel. They also carry sheets and wraps from Raw, Blazy Susan and ZigZag.

Their menu of cannabis products includes items from many brands like Viola, Columbia Care, AYR, Cookies, Edie Parker (check out my review), Justice Grown, Verano, 1906, Wana, The Botanist and many more.

The microbusiness features smart-technology to assist consumers in picking products that are right for them with their individual needs in mind. Their menu, complete with descriptions for each product, is available for preorders on the website.
