North York mayor vows to veto marijuana decriminalization moments after council OK’d measure

The mayor of North York Borough on Tuesday night vowed to immediately veto an ordinance approved by borough council that would decriminalize possession of small amounts of marijuana.

Just moments after the borough council voted 3-2 in favor of the ordinance, Mayor Nancy Brunk said she would veto, offering no further explanation.
