A California senator wants investments in students, educators, and employers in marginalized communities so that they can better prepare for the impact of artificial intelligence.

“Fewer people are going to be required across broader industries, particularly those in white-collar, traditionally white-collar positions,” Sen. Laphonza Butler (D-Calif.) said at the annual legislative conference of the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation in Washington, D.C., on Thursday. “Let’s take this moment today to get ahead of some of those workplace challenges.”
