Salesforce Layoffs: US giant cuts over 1,000 jobs amid AI-focused hiring in 2025

Salesforce Layoffs 2025 : Salesforce is set to lay off more than 1,000 employees as it shifts focus on artificial intelligence-driven products, according to a report by Bloomberg News.

Even as job cuts take place, the US-based company is actively hiring for roles aligned with its AI expansion strategy.

No Official Statement

While displaced employees will have the opportunity to apply for internal positions, it remains unclear which specific divisions will be impacted. Salesforce has yet to issue an official statement regarding the layoffs, which coincide with the beginning of its new fiscal year.

Salesforce Workforce

As of January 31, 2024, the customer relationship management (CRM) giant employed 72,682 people. This is not the first round of job cuts in recent months—earlier reports indicated that 700 employees were laid off in January 2024, followed by another 300 job cuts in July 2024.

Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff has emphasised Salesforce’s growing AI-powered solutions, with the company securing over 1,000 paid deals for Agentforce, its platform for creating virtual AI representatives.

Salesforce Quarterly Results

Salesforce is expected to release its quarterly earnings on February 26, shedding more light on its financial outlook and workforce strategy.

The layoffs reflect a broader trend in the tech industry, where companies such as Amazon, Microsoft, and Meta have also announced workforce reductions in 2025 to optimize operations and refocus on AI-driven initiatives.
