The evolution and proliferation of AI technology is a worldwide trend, and Super Bowl 59 is proving to be an attractive platform to promote this relatively new but fast-growing product area.

Google is among several major technology companies that produced AI-themed Super Bowl commercials for when the Philadelphia Eagles play the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday. Meta had actors Chris Pratt and Chris Hemsworth advertising its AI-powered Ray-Ban smart glasses and OpenAI, which developed ChatGPT, is also making its Super Bowl commercial debut in 2025.

In addition, Salesforce is showcasing its AI agent for customer assistance and GoDaddy is highlighting an AI website-building tool during this year’s Super Bowl national broadcast.

The focus of Google’s “Dream Job” Super Bowl advertising campaign is its Google Pixel 9 camera featuring Gemini Live, a new AI-powered chatbot. The commercial centers on a father applying and preparing for a job interview with a prospective employer by using the device’s AI capabilities to answer sample questions. It’s meant to spotlight how Gemini in Pixel provides helpful AI assistance.

Google’s first national ad debuted at the Super Bowl 15 years ago. This latest commercial begins with Gemini saying, “When you’re ready, tell me about the job that taught you the most.”

The father’s answer is then interspersed with scenes of him taking care of his daughter, beginning as a crying toddler and until he’s dropping her off for college, with his words carrying dual meaning whether he were in an office setting or parenting situation.

“When it comes to work,” Gemini finally asks at the end of the 30-second spot, “what motivates you?”

“I guess knowing that people can depend on me, and knowing I can depend on them, too,” the father answers

“That’s a great answer,” Gemini responds back, and surely dads across the country agree. “Sounds like you’re ready.”

The father on screen then clicks the mouse of his computer and is greeted for a job interview as the Google logo signals the commercial’s end. Here’s what it looked like on the screen:
