LA CROSSE, Wis. (WEAU) – UW-La Crosse’s AI Ethics Certificate program is set to begin this spring. The 12 credit program includes classes that discuss ethical issues posed by AI.
The university says employers across many industries are looking for graduates with strong non-technical skills, especially for roles involving AI applications.
“I’ve got students who are interested in music, psychology, healthcare, economics, politics, and all sorts of things, who want to know how AI is going to shape their careers. There are going to be jobs in the region that use or implement AI in some sort of way. We want UW-La Crosse students to be able to get those jobs,” says UW-La Crosse assistant philosophy professor Stewart Eskew.
Classes in the program will cover the use of AI in communication, philosophy, and writing.
