Speaking at Asia’s largest AI event, Mumbai Tech Week 2025 at the Jio World Centre, the Chairman of Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited (RJIL), Akash Ambani, has highlighted that artificial intelligence (AI) will play a crucial role in transforming new jobs and will not replace existing jobs.

At the event, during the chat with the Dream11 CEO Harsh Jain, Ambani explained how new industries such as fintech, e-commerce, and the creator economy have developed because of technological advancements.

He said that, “When the Internet was created, no industries were born. You know, fintech was born, e-commerce was born, a creator economy was born.” He further added, “the content creators on platforms like YouTube and Instagram are now able to make a full-time living, something unimaginable a few decades ago. Similarly, AI will lead to the creation of new job opportunities.”

Aakash Ambani is a firm believer that AI will transform jobs and will not replace them. He further added that Isha Ambani and Shloka Ambani have started using AI at their new school.

Ambani also stressed the importance of AI in shaping the future. He said that AI will be at the center for developing India’s economic growth. He also noted that in the next coming year, AI will achieve 10% or double digital growth.

He explained how AI is reshaping different industries, including agriculture, education, and healthcare.

He said that, “I think AI is the biggest technology change that we have seen in our lifetime to date. And in my view it is the engine that will empower India to grow at 10 per cent or double digit growth numbers for the foreseeable future.”

He further added that, “To make India a leader in AI, one should focus on the three fundamental: AI infrastructure, research and development, and skilled talent.”

He also stated that building the best infrastructure is very important for the country’s digital transformation.

At last, Ambani concluded that, “At Jio we are already doing that. We recently announced in Jamnagar that we’re building our AI data center, which will be a gigawatt capacity data center, but continuing to invest at the infrastructure level.” As AI will lead to mass employment and development, according to him.
