Interactive modules to experience AI, cybersecurity, cloud and other tech jobs
DOWNERS GROVE, Ill. – CompTIA, Inc. today announced the premiere of CompTIA Careers+, an engaging and unique virtual “test drive” approach to learn about career scenarios working in technology.
CompTIA Careers+, developed by the leading global provider of vendor-neutral information technology (IT) training and certification products, offers an immersive experience that illustrates how individual talents and collaborative teamwork combine to create innovative solutions and solve problems. Interactive simulations and real-world scenarios mirror the responsibilities of IT professionals.
“With CompTIA Careers+, you can explore a variety of job roles in a way that demystifies working in tech, whether it’s in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity or other areas,” said Bliss Maginnis, executive producer, CompTIA. “It’s an engaging and immersive day-in-the-life learning experience that’s both interactive and packed with a touch of entertainment to keep things exciting.”
In one scenario, three people in diverse occupations come together to create an AI solution for their company.
- An AI engineer reckons with the concrete problems of aligning AI’s potential with present business possibilities.
- A cloud specialist roots his company’s AI future in flexible and supportive cloud infrastructure.
- An instructional designer brings a human touch to powerful AI content production.
CompTIA Careers+ answers the challenges that students and job seekers often encounter with career sites and job boards – from not knowing where to start[1] to getting bogged down in information overload.[2]
“CompTIA Careers+ is free and easy to navigate,” Maginnis said. “Users can dive in at their own pace, tailoring their experience to focus on the information that matters most to them.”
In addition to the AI story, CompTIA Careers+ profiles a cybersecurity specialist who works to counter a ransomware attack; a systems engineer who analyzes and protects IT systems during a crisis; a data analyst tasked with maintaining data integrity even when IT security systems are compromised; and an IT support specialist who saves the day when a major problem arises.
“Each occupation module highlights the most critical skills needed for success in that role,” said Henry Mann, senior director, product development, CompTIA. “We also show how technology professionals are contributors and team players essential to an organization’s success, something often overlooked in discussions about tech careers,”
CompTIA Careers+ content works in tandem with CompTIA Career Explorer, a go to resource for training partners, academic partners, workforce development partners and corporate partners to share with their students, employees or the individuals they serve.
CompTIA has also introduced its Essentials Series of learning resources, designed to help people grow their understanding and knowledge about artificial intelligence, business practices and the “soft skills” required in today’s workplace.
