Simon Johnson, a former chief economist at the International Monetary Fund, has won the Nobel Prize for economics. Johnson, head of global economics at the MIT Sloan School of Management, will share the award with Daron Acemoglu and James A. Robinson. They studied how prosperity can come about, and the importance of institutions in that process. Johnson is on “Bloomberg Surveillance.”
