To meet the growing demands for expertise in the fields of artificial intelligence and machine learning, Cambrian College is launching a new program in January 2025.

Artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning is a two-semester graduate certificate program for students who already have a college or university credential and want to enhance their existing skills or pursue a new career path in the fields of AI and machine learning.

The new program explores such topics as programming for AI, AI ethics, data engineering and deep learning.

Students will learn how to use AI and machine learning to identify patterns, automate processes, and support decision-making in public and private sectors, including health care, business and finance.

The artificial intelligence and machine learning program will be offered both in-person at Cambrian’s main campus in Sudbury and online.

“We know that industry is evolving at an amazing pace and as a college, we need to keep up,”

said Janice Clarke, Cambrian’s vice-president academic, in a press release.

“We develop programs to suit the needs of the labour market today and tomorrow. This new program will position our students to succeed in AI and machine learning, which are quickly changing the dynamics of practically every industry.”
