OpenAI bans dozens of accounts tied to North Korean IT workers’ fake job schemes

North Korean overseas IT workers used artificial intelligence (AI) firm OpenAI’s proprietary tools to create job applications and online personas in order to generate foreign currency for the DPRK regime, prompting the U.S. firm to ban dozens of accounts linked to their fraudulent activities.

OpenAI said in a press release on Friday that it discovered a number of accounts that were “potentially used to facilitate a deceptive employment scheme” in a manner consistent with the operations of overseas  North Korean IT workers.
