The NJ-CRC, NJBAC and NJEDA are all speaking at this huge cannabis networking event July 20

The stateā€™s Cannabis Regulatory Commission will meet early next week with several more retail stores expected to be approved to open on the agenda, adding to the 35 dispensaries already dotting the state.

Adding to this flurry of summer approvals, CRC Chairwoman Dianna Houenou recently said more varied products produced in the state and improved access for medical marijuana patients will also expand the market.

Houneou will be among the featured speakers at NJ Cannabis Insiderā€™s summer business networking event from 6-10 p.m. on July 20 at the oceanfront Waves Resort Long Branch. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Reserve tickets here.

(Note: Tickets for these events often sell out, especially our annual July meetup at the Shore.)

Presented by CannaRemedies NJ, the summer business meetup will also include an informal discussion about what regulators look for in license applications and a primer on the new license classes becoming available in September: Wholesale, Distribution and Delivery.

Joining Houenou during the hour-long speaker program will be:

  • Kelly Anderson, CRC deputy executive director
  • Megan Tagliaferri, CRC director of Licensing
  • Genevieve Jones, program manager at the New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA)
  • Penni Wild, N.J. Business Action Center deputy executive director
  • Tauhid Chappell, executive director of the NJBAC Cannabis Training Academy

The networking session at the gorgeous seaside resort will start shortly after 7 p.m. when the speakers are done taking questions from the audience. The $125 price for a ticket includes happy hour eats and two drinks. Garage and metered parking is nearby.
