This is the second Halloween since weed was legalized in New Jersey, and a few of the legal weed shops scattered all over the Garden State want to celebrate with their customers.
“Halloweed” parties are scheduled for this weekend with promises of treats like food, music, giveaways, contests and deals so good you will think it’s a trick. Here are three shops that are showing how spirited this season can be.
Leaf Haus

Leaf Haus is having a “Halloweed” party on Oct. 28 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at their shop, located at 900 Easton Ave., Suite 18 in Somerset. There will be free food, drinks, merchandise giveaways and live music as well as prizes for the best dressed costumes.
Halloween discounts on menu items will include: Ozone brand gummies will be 2 packs for $50 and 3.5g of flower will be 2 for $110; Simply Herb brand flower will be 7g 2 for 150, All Botanist products will be 30% off; all Kind Tree, Gage and Cookies products will be 20% off.
The afterparty at Ellery’s in Middlesex from 10 p.m.-1 a.m. is located at 701 Lincoln Boulevard. This event is sponsored by many weed companies available throughout the state, such as Gage, Cookies, Verano, Vibes, Fernway and more.
NJ Leaf

NJ Leaf is having a Halloween party from noon to 5 p.m. at their shop in Freehold, located at 546 Park Ave. Sponsors include cannabis brands 1906, The Botanist, Ozone and Kind Tree.
There will be prizes given for the funniest, scariest and best cannabis-themed costumes in addition to contests for painted pumpkins and drawings. Free food from the Bearded One BBQ and Waffle Cabin Station, free merch and music from DJ foggy Notion will also be available.
Union Chill
On Halloween, customers in costume will receive a 10% discount. In addition, “Edible Bundles” will be available (buy 3 edibles, get the fourth 30% off). The shop is at 204 N. Union St., #108.
In honor of their late founder Laurie McHugh, who is remembered for her service to her community, on Oct. 30 Union Chill is running a promotion dubbed the “Mischief Night Special,” offering 10% off Curaleaf pre-rolls for anyone who brings in toilet paper to donate to Fisherman’s Mark.
