A conflict over unionization is taking place at one of the state’s largest cannabis dispensaries, Green Thumb Industries.
The United Food and Commercial Worker Local 360 union, one of the state’s primary cannabis unions, is being challenged by the National Right to Work Foundation, which opposes compulsory union membership. The foundation claims the setup is unfair to employees who do not want to be a part of a union and represents a monopoly for the union.
The challenge is playing out with the National Labor Relations Board and is technically not happening through the cannabis company.
