WILLIAMSPORT — A Lycoming County man who spent more than a year in jail before his charges were dropped has filed a federal lawsuit alleging false imprisonment and malicious prosecution.

Brian D. Williams of South Williamsport makes the accusations in a civil suit filed Monday in U.S. Middle District Court against Tyson Havens, the county and up to 10 law enforcement officers listed as John or Jane Does.

Havens is a member of the narcotics enforcement unit supervised by the district attorney’s office.
