Marin Catholic 28, Windsor 27: Windsor dropped a heartbreaker in its Redwood Empire Conference Adobe division finale Friday in Kentfield, falling to the Wildcats on a last-second touchdown and two-point conversion.

Marin Catholic (5-5, 4-1 REC-Adobe) scored with no time left on the clock after starting its final drive deep in its own territory trailing 27-20 with 1:30 to play in the fourth. The Wildcats looked to kick the PAT to send the game to overtime, but got some extra yardage when the Jaguars (6-4, 2-3) jumped offside.

Marin Catholic then opted to go for two and the win and put star player Jared Geissberger in for his only play of the game. He converted on a short keeper to give the Wildcats the win with zeroes on the clock.

Windsor scored its last touchdown on a 35-yard rush from sophomore quarterback Gavin Restad, who had a massive varsity debut filling in for starter Carter Vose III, who sat with a minor injury. Restad finished with 12-for-21 passing for 262 yards with three touchdowns and rushed for 136 yards with a score on 20 carries.

Marin Catholic picked off Restad in the end zone with 1:45 left in the game but turned the ball over on the very first play of its ensuing drive, setting up the scoring run from Restad. Marin Catholic, however, blocked the PAT to keep the deficit at 27-20 before its game-winning drive.

Windsor trailed 14-0 early but rallied to take the lead 21-20 in the third quarter.

Blayke Ferronato had a huge day receiving for Windsor, hauling in five catches for 144 yards with two touchdowns, including an 81-yard touchdown reception. Fernando Lopez also caught a 70-yard touchdown pass from Restad.

“Our football teamwent toe to toe with a top-six team in the NCS and couldn’t be more proud of the
effort they put forward,” Windsor head coach DJ Sexton said. “A lot of positive to take forward into the playoffs and build on for a deep run.”

Ukiah 42, Analy 13: The Wildcats blitzed the visiting Tigers on Friday to cap the regular season with a runaway win.

Ukiah (6-4, 4-1 REC-Bay) scored on its first five possessions of the game to build a 35-7 lead at halftime. Both teams decided to play the second half with a running clock.

Ukiah quarterback Beau David rushed for three touchdowns and passed for two. Dareon Dorsey and Ryan Todd both had long touchdown receptions and Chris Thompson added a rushing score.

Analy closed out the regular season at 6-4 overall and 2-3 in league and will now await its playoff seeding. The Tigers are projected to be a low seed in Division 5.

Based on some of the results from around the NCS on Friday night, the Wildcats may end up as a high seed in Division 4. They also own the REC-Bay tiebreaker for the league’s automatic qualifying spot if the league race ends in a three-way tie. Maria Carrillo can clinch the league title with a win over St. Vincent on Saturday.

Sonoma Valley 70, Healdsburg 6: The Dragons clinched the outright REC-Mountain title for the second straight year as they beat Healdsburg on Friday night to go undefeated in league play.

Sonoma went up 50-0 after one half, and scored another 20 points in the second half. Dalan Lopata tossed four touchdown passes, two of which went to Johnny Campbell. Angelo Tellez and Grady Barnes had the others.

Cayden Waldrop had four rushing touchdowns to add to his stellar season. Chuy Ordaz returned a punt for a score and Alex Pureco had a pick-six.

Sonoma (9-1, 6-0 REC-Mountain) now waits to learn its playoff fate Sunday. Healdsburg finishes the season at 0-9 overall and 0-6 in league play.

Archie Williams 35, Piner 28: Piner battled in Friday’s league finale, but the visiting Falcons scored a late touchdown to steal it on Friday in Santa Rosa

With four minutes left and the game tied at 28, Piner’s offense had the ball. The Prospectors reached field-goal range, but a sack took them out of it. They went for it on fourth down, but quarterback Soso Prak was intercepted on the pass attempt and Archie was able to run in the go-ahead score with two and a half minutes left.

Prak had a passing touchdown and a rushing touchdown, while Piner’s Charlie Brem and Blake Moran did damage on the ground against Archie.

Lucian Wee had two sacks and Tristan Corranza also shined on defense for Piner.

Piner ends its season at 2-8 overall and 2-4 in league play.

Tamalpais 28, Napa 12: The visiting Red-tailed Hawks turned a 7-6 first-quarter lead into a 22-6 advantage by the start of the fourth quarter Friday, ultimately sending the Grizzlies to a fifth loss in REC-Valley play in their season finale.

Napa (3-7, 1-5 REC-Valley) bounced back this year from a winless 2024 campaign by winning three games, including their sole league victory last week, 42-10 over Justin-Siena.

St. Helena 23, Upper Lake 12: The Saints followed up last week’s league-clinching victory with Friday’s road win in Lake County to complete a perfect regular season.

The Saints, the champions of the NCL I, took a 21-0 lead into halftime against the Cougars. Julian Earls and Eric Torres each scored touchdowns on the ground, while Latif Basile caught a scoring pass from Johny Covarrubias and also kicked the extra point.

After the break, the Saints added to their advantage with a safety before two fourth-quarter touchdown passes by the Cougars narrowed the gap.

St. Helena (10-0, 8-0 NCL I) now awaits the playoffs.

Round Valley 45, Calistoga 20: In eight-person play, the Wildcats fell to the Mustangs at home Friday to end their season with a fifth consecutive loss. Calistoga went 3-6 on the year with an 0-5 record in the NCL III.
