Should you or someone you know be featured as a Person to Know? Fill out this form and we may publish your story.
What is your position and what do you/your company do in the cannabis space?
Iām the co-founder and CEO of retail at LakeHouse Cannabis.
How long have you worked in the cannabis space?
We founded the company in May of 2021.
What did you do before you were involved in the cannabis industry?
I was in construction project management, building commercial and office spaces.
What led you to the cannabis industry?
We had an interest in the medical industry, but were not able to get involved at the time. I left my job in NYC and moved back to Homer/Cortland, and within a month New York had legalized recreational cannabis. My brother came to me, and we then went to our father with the idea. Since then, we have been fully invested.
Do you have any advice for someone looking to get into the NY weed industry?
Be prepared for for constant change.
What do you think the NY cannabis ecosystem will look like in five years?
I dream that the cannabis ecosystem in New York has the true ability to grow. There should be dispensaries operating in each of the 14 regions, but more specifically they should be operating in each market where there is the need or demand. Consumers should not have to drive 30+ minutes to legally purchase their product, similar to what I am required to do now as a medical cannabis patient/consumer.
Do you use cannabis? If so, whatās your favorite method?
Yes. My preferred consumption method is flower. Smoking a joint has always been my favorite way to wind down, and I think it brings a small sense of the stereotypical āstonerā impression.
Who should contact you, and whatās the best method?
Potential suppliers ā cultivators and processors that would like to see their product in the CNY region.
Potential employees ā itās a little early for us to start hiring, but weāre hoping to open up additional positions come April or May.
