What is your position and what do you/your company do in the cannabis space?

I am the owner and founder of Urban Leaf, a new cannabis dispensary just a few minutes from Grand Central at 977 2nd Ave. We offer a diverse range of cannabis products including flower, edibles, concentrates, topicals, all carefully curated by our specialist to ensure best quality cannabis products to our customers.

How long have you worked in the cannabis space?

While Urban Leaf Cannabis Dispensary is my first official venture in the New York cannabis market, I have deep roots in cannabis. I accumulated extensive experience and a deep passion for cannabis through my years as a legacy dealer.

What did you do before you were involved in the cannabis industry?

I was primarily focused on real estate investment. For over 12 years, I’ve been involved in buying, selling, developing, and managing real estate properties through my company, Keter Management LLC. Real estate has been my passion and area of expertise alongside my ventures in the cannabis industry.

What led you to the cannabis industry?

Growing up in a challenging environment, I was naturally pulled into the cannabis industry, and I started selling cannabis. Utilizing my expertise in premium strains and delivery, I earned a respected reputation within the community. While I was involved in the legacy market, I knew New York would eventually have a strong and important legal cannabis industry and I eagerly awaited its legalization. When licenses were announced for those with justice involvement, I applied immediately, realizing that my prior experience in cannabis had a purpose all along.

Do you have any advice for someone looking to get into the NY weed industry?

My advice is to persevere relentlessly if this is your true passion. Believe in your vision and remain committed to it and know that dedication yields results. Make sure to get yourself out there. Networking is essential, as is ongoing education, given the ever-evolving nature of the industry. Attend events, conferences, and engage in continuous learning to stay ahead of developments and opportunities.

Take some time to write about what you think the NY cannabis ecosystem will look like in five years.

I see the cannabis industry in New York growing a lot. With rules solidifying and more stores opening, it’ll be easier for consumers to legally purchase a diverse variety of cannabis products. This will create more jobs and help the economy. The legal industry will also help to normalize cannabis consumption.

This means it’ll become more common in our everyday lives. People will understand more about how cannabis can be a helpful wellness aid. Overall, New York’s cannabis industry will keep getting bigger, bringing new chances for people to start businesses, invest money, and try out new things. And as more people learn about the benefits of cannabis, its popularity will keep growing.

Do you use cannabis? If so, what’s your favorite method and why?

I’d prefer not to answer.
