Finally, voters were asked whether they agree or disagree with multiple measures to increase worker control over AI in the workplace and require employers to be transparent about how they use AI.
Overwhelming majorities of voters agree that “workers should know if AI is being used to monitor their work” (+76-point net margin), that “AI should not be used by employers unless there is meaningful human oversight” (+68), and that “if an employer uses AI to become more profitable, its workers should receive better pay or benefits” (+67).
A strong majority of voters also agree that “workers should be involved in deciding how their employer uses AI” (+54).
In a split test, voters were asked whether they agree or disagree that employers using AI to monitor workers in all aspects of their jobs is a violation of “their privacy” (Split A) or “their freedom” (Split B). Voters agree that this is a violation of both — +55 and +45, respectively.
