Democratic lawmakers in several states want employers to disclose when artificial intelligence adoption causes layoffs.

A comprehensive Connecticut law enacted this year and bills pending in California, New Jersey and Pennsylvania would require companies to tell employees and state officials if certain mass layoffs are caused by AI or other forms of automation.
